    At this level, learner can :

    1. Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at satisfying needs of a concrete type (e.g. asking for personal information, ordering food in a restaurant, filling in simple forms).

    2. Introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details when the other person speaks slowly and clearly.

    3. Interact in a simple way if the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to repeat or rephrase.

  • Score - 6 to 12
    At this level, learner can :

    1. Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g. personal information, family, shopping, local geography, occupation).

    2. Communicate about routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of
      information on familiar matters.

    3. Describe in simple terms aspects of their background and immediate environment.

  • Score - 12 to 18
    At this level, learner can :

    1. Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school, leisure, etc.

    2. Deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.

    3. Produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.

    4. Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

  • Score - 18 to 26
    At this level, learner can :

    1. Understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialisation.

    2. Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.

    3. Produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to their interests.

    4. Explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

  • Score - 26 to 30
    At this level, learner can :

    1. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meanings.

    2. Express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much apparent effort.

    3. Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.

    4. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns and connectors.

  • Score - 30 to 32
    At this level, learner can :

    1. Understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.

    2. Summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.

    3. Express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and accurately, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
